At the beginning it was a difficult time, mainly communication but once we got past that phase, working with Derek was nothing short of productive, informative and professionalism. Only minor issue was at closing. We were told to purchase Flood insurance, which we did and had to pay the yearly fee. At closing I discovered flood insurance tacked onto our monthly mortgage. In the end, we were told we would be reimbursed for the entire amount we paid out of pocket and the flood insurance payments will remain as part of our monthly mortgage payment, we already paid which could have been deducted, but instead we now have to pay each month for flood insurance, that sequence of event didn’t make sense but overall we are happy to owning a home .!
Bill is the best promote ahead of peers. If you are Army, you get it.
As a first time home buyer we had a million questions and our Veterans United team was always there to answer our questions. They were all so nice and helpful. 10/10 I would recommend Veterans United to anyone but especially first time home buyers.
Wish you had more options when it came to movers

Everything went smooth and the team did just about all the work for us and made it simple.
The team I had, Jack, Nick, and Olivia, best group ever! They kept me on track even when we hit major delays for house repairs. They guided us more like friends instead of a loan agency! Every vet I know has already been told about them and how they worked us thru even the tiniest obstacles! If I ever do this again, I will be looking to them! They made this painful process almost completely pain free!

Brett Peter's (our credit officer) was wonderful! He went above and beyond in assisting us getting our credit scores aligned. Overall, the entire team and process was great! I would definitely recommend to anyone!!
Veteran United Are the best. I will recommend them to everyone
The biggest issue that I had was that I received and email that we were ready to close week ahead of schedule, but no one could tell me how much money I would need to close until late two days before. Both veterans united and the title company were blaming each other for the delay. The money had to be wired so I had to leave work early before the banks closed the day before closing to make sure it was done.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Timothy,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you faced during your closing process. Receiving conflicting information and last-minute requests can be incredibly stressful, especially when it comes to something as important as closing on a home.
It’s concerning to hear about the lack of clear communication and the blame-shifting between Veterans United and the title company. We should have provided you with the necessary information well in advance to ensure a smooth closing process.
I’d like to look into what happened and see how we can improve our process. Could you reach out to our Client Advocate team at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com? We're in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but please feel free to reach out anytime, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
