Second time working with Krystal & her team!....they do fantastic work, and have very friendly dispositions...
Process was simple and easy to get approved. Andy Miller was fantastic to work with. Was kept in the loop during entire process, and had everything explained to me in detail as I was a first time home-buyer. He made sure all of my questions were answered and never made me feel "rushed". Highly recommend ????
The agreement that was negotiated was not honored and the loan officer Greg Heins did not return my calls after the closing. the repairs that were negotiated was not honored, in essence over $8K was short at the closing and i was not informed that the first payment was due on October first.
The house address did not have a postal mailbox to get my mail.
I had to contact the main post office, because the local post office did not store my mail,
I had to request permission to install a mailbox and request my mail to be delivered there.
I had to pay out of my pocket to get the repair that was negated prior to the closing, i need to get the balance to cover that.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Nathaniel,
I’m really sorry to hear about the frustration you’ve experienced after closing. I can understand how stressful it must have been to face unexpected repairs, confusion about your first payment date, and even challenges just getting your mail set up. That’s a lot to handle after what should have been an exciting milestone, and I’m truly sorry it’s felt so difficult.
While the VA appraisal helps confirm the property’s value, it doesn’t always address the full condition of the home or repairs that may have been negotiated between buyer and seller. Still, we should have communicated more clearly about what to expect before and after closing, and I regret that you felt left without support once things wrapped up.
We’d really like to take a closer look at your situation and the repair agreement you mentioned to see if we can provide clarity. My Client Advocate team would be glad to connect with you directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
We’re available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time and will follow up the next business day if you reach out after hours.

Kelly Stephens was patient over the phone and explained what needed to be done when I did not want to upload my docs online to the Veterans United Home Loan site. She then contacted the attorney's office to request a hard copy of the signed closing docs to be sent to me through the US postal service - that were not provided to me at the day of the May 11, 2020 closing (and really should have been - as was done through my experience with other house closings in the past over my 23-yr, 7 mo. military active and civilian career, I had signed 2 copies at same time - one for me and for the other copy to stay for file of seller personnel)….It was a horrible closing experience through a "pandemic" - that was used by the builder attorney office as an excuse not to have any others attend the closing but office admin. and me, so a thank you here to Kelly! A hard copy was finally received at my new address on June 10.....
VU was awesome to deal with. Everything went how it was suppose to. The lender , the underwriter , and the additional staff members that helped , all were great !!! If you don't believe me , go find out for yourself. :)
Crystaline's team was incredible to work with! Everyone was so helpful and instructions were clear every step of the way. It was also so refreshing to work with people who actually cared about us and were as excited as we were to finally purchase our dream home.

Kendall and the team were great! Kendall was very patient with us as we bounced through many offers. They answered all of our questions, explained how the process works, and made sure we were taken care of!
Veterans United will be my recommendation for anyone I know in the military looking to buy a house.
Overall, the Team was great. Small mentions & attention to details like receiving email notifications a day or two after the action requested/mentioned in the email had already been done or discussed, and repeated requests for the correction of our names; even our last which would be correct for one of us, yet not the other. However, corrections were made, seemingly everyone works well together to make Veterans and their families feel important, appreciated and their service valued enough to cover an big part of home ownership expenses. A sincere THANK YOU to each of you~
VU has been working with me over the past 2yrs on approving my credit score
