Other lenders are impersonal with annoying sales calls, ridiculous hold times and terrible customer service. I will only deal with Veterans United for now on. As a first time home buyer with unpleasant experiences with previous mortgage companies, Veterans United was like a breath of fresh air. From start to finish, your team members (yes, a whole team is put in place for your application process) are in contact with you at least once every week to two weeks. This begins at pre-approval and continues through closing. They update you on your status along the way and even just call to check how you're doing while looking for a home to purchase. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This is my 4th property purchased in my life and the first time I'm completely dissatisfied with the loan processing service and then they charged me $3200 for their services, it was not worth it.

Hi Dennis, thank you for your open and honest feedback. A member of our Client Advocate team has connected with you and does remain available to discuss your final documentation in greater detail. The VA allows lenders to charge up to 1 percent of the loan amount to cover origination, processing and underwriting costs. They can choose to either charge you a flat 1 percent origination fee, or pick and choose among a host of fees, so long as they add up to no more than 1 percent. If the lender isn't charging the flat 1 percent fee, then VA buyers can pay some fees and charges that would otherwise be unallowable.
