Veterans United gets the job done! We have worked with Veterans United for 3 transactions now. Each time has been smooth and a great experience. The customer service is top notch! They kept us in the loop through the whole process. Submitting info and reviewing docs is super easy with them. Our loan team was a call, text or email away and they actually respond when you contact them, usually within a few hours!About 8 months ago VU sold our home loan to one of their competitors. The competitor then offered to refinance us the next month since rates were so low, so we figured why not. At the same time our home owners insurance renewed and had skyrocketed so we got different insurance. The competitor could not get this new insurance updated in the loan paperwork even though it was submitted multiple times to them. A couple of months into the process with this competitor, they assigned to us a customer advocate since it seemed no one was able to get the paperwork done properly. We sat down with 2 different notaries to close our refinance with this other company over a 4 month span. Both times the notary was sent the WRONG paperwork (and not the same as the closing docs they had sent to us, which were correct!) to have us sign, resulting in a payment that was over $250 more a month! Needless to say, we weren't agreeing to a payment that didn't reflect what it should have been, so we didn't sign. After the first notary came, we completely lost our faith in this other company so we contacted Veterans United to see what they could do. Then it seemed like things were going to get fixed and completed with the competitor so we gave them a chance to get it done. After the second notary came with the wrong paperwork again, our customer advocate wouldn't even return my calls! VU finished things up a couple of weeks later and we were ready to sign.Of course Veterans United got the job done and it was smooth and painless! I see why Veterans United is rated so highly by the BBB and the competitor is not. I truly hope we never have to deal with this other company again! We recommend Veterans United to any veteran looking to buy a home or refinance their existing loan. Thank you Veterans United!!

Closing happened a few weeks later than it was suppose to. The underwriter was getting blamed for everything but I don’t honestly believe that was the case. This was my fourth mortgage and second with a cross country move, new job, scenario. Second VA loan. It was never this difficult before. Frequent slow responses from my loan team. Bad enough to where I had another mortgage company start gathering information in case I decided to switch.
