If you have struggled with credit in the past and don't think you will ever have the opportunity to buy a home, think again! My husband and I felt overwhelmed. Even though we had paid all of our bills on time and never missed a rent payment, my credit had taken a hard hit before I met my husband when I was a single mother. On a whim, we decided to apply through Veterans United and although we were initially denied, they offered an alternative that would help to improve our credit; The Lighthouse Program - a totally FREE program which worked closely with us to help us improve our credit. We were committed to the act of improving our credit either way so we took the dive and never looked back! Within a relatively short period of time, our credit had improved to the point of being granted a preapproval! At this point, we met two of the most incredible loan officers who went above and beyond my greatest expectations. Ben and Kat were superstars! Not only incredibly friendly but also always quick to respond!
