I had an amazing team to work with. At times it didn't seem like we would get things done or things wouldn't get done on time but everyone was a professional and wanted to help us get into our new home. I hope everyone gets a team like we had.
VU provides excellent customer service making things much easier during the home buying process. You will receive personalized service, meaning they actually know your name and your family not like many when your just a number.
The process is long and tedious but well worth it.
The appraiser that was assigned to us was atrocious and that is putting it nicely. He cost us 2 weeks delay as well as more money in all of his mistakes he made. His square footage measurement for the home was off by 300sq ft. He never called the builder to verify his square footage resulting in an under appraisal of 23000 dollars. When he realized his mistake he only came up 5000 dollars on the appraisal. He refused to correct his mistakes until he came back from vacation and then on closing day he set us back an hour and a half in closing because he put the wrong lot number on the paper work and when they tried to call him to get it corrected he wouldn't answer his phone. Yes we can seriously say this was not a good experience for us at all!

I purchased a home several years ago but didn't know about my VA loan benefits. That experience is a blur. This one will be ingrained in my memory for years to come as one of the greatest. Very painless process. Once I was sent to the loan officer, everything ramped up which is great because I'm a pretty impatient person. My team was super and made sure I knew exactly what was going on throughout the entire process. Once I got that "Clear to Close", I literally felt my heart jump because knew it was done. If I could hug my team, I would have, that's how excited and appreciative I am for working with such great individuals.
