Although our experience was not entirely negative, I was disappointed with how much we had to initiate in terms of maintaining consistent communication, thorough explanations of costs and applicable changes, processes involved in closing esp. related to rate locking and how the changes were impacted by worldly events, timing, etc. This being our first time buying a home, I expected more from Veteran's United to make the process less strenuous by offering more guidance throughout. That didn't happen, which is why we are not likely to recommended the company to others in the future.

The whole process was smooth and painless.

My only complaint about the process is that there were two people working on the loan and they didn't always seem to know what the other one was doing or had done. I received several requests for information which I had already sent. This led to miscommunication and I think it slowed down the process. However, overall I was very pleased with the friendliness and support of the Veterans United team.
