Only thing that I experienced that I think could be better was the amount of time it took to get the appraisal done, once it was ordered. I know this is not your fault but that was the only issue I had.

Veterans should be made aware of the logistics and ins and outs of the entire process before they proceed. They should also be made aware of all fees they are expected to be pay that will not be covered by the V.A. home loan itself. Possibly instead of sending literature at the beginning of the process, that is essentially written in ancient greek to the first time home buyer, I recommend possibly a one on one phone call with the potential buyer wear in the contents of the literature be explained. Possibly, the use of standardized questions during the phone call by the VUHL rep, to ensure that the potential buyer is fully knowledgeable of the pending process and all its fees. Also ensure that the VUHL rep doesn't use the phrase "do you have any questions" at the beginning of the process because the entire process is a constant question. This is a purchase in life that first time home buyers want to be taken by the hand and led to the next step in the process, as to make a flawless transition into home ownership with no loose ends that need to be tied up at the end.
