Overall I was pleased with my experience. A friend referred me and said great things about the company in general. Her remarks were consistent throughout and I never had any issues with Nathan or the process in general. I thank her, Nathan and Veterans United for helping my family sign on the dotted line!
I would highly recommend Jeff and his team. I was shocked at how fluid the process was and that there wasn't any hassle or back-tracking.
I believe that the overall process was great, I was rather nervous about the documentation needed from the IRS, because we had filed paper and mailed in. I think the only thing I would have loved to known up front is that transcripts would be needed from the IRS, because it would have helped us to make a decision to file electronically for a quicker turn around time. We thought our copy of our documents were good enough and they were not, so it actually delayed our closing a little while, however we closed.

The team assigned to my application was outstanding. They made sure to explain everything in detail to ensure I knew what was going on and what I was signing. Made the process quick and easy. Michelle Mach is a member of Doug's team. She was informative and always answered my questions (and there were many) in a timely fashion. As Doug got the foundation going the remainder of the team erected the structure. I just want to say "Thanks" to all those team members behind the scenes who also assisted. I salute all of you for your first class organization.
I never thought I would be a position to purchase a house... I initially felt it just couldn't happen.... Guess what... My car is now parked out of the Florida Sun in my garage!!! My apartment complex did not allow Grilling... guess what, this weekend I will be BBQing !!! My house does not share walls with noisy apartment neighbors Noise and banging on the walls has ended... Guess what... I will not have my PTSD kick in the middle of the night and I will be able to sleep !!! My lying and cheating X-wife would send her posse to harass me... guess what... I am in a gated community with a guard !!! The community pool was on the other side of the complex... guess what... the pool and spa are across the street !!!
I have had a loan processed and approved with the help of the VU Team.... Guess what... my life is changed !!!!
I would like to commend Brandon and Cameron for the outstanding job that they did on getting our VA home loan processed. They were always professional, and courteous, while helping guide us through this process.
They answered my questions even if on weekends! Amazing customer service which is something that is not often seen these days.
When issues arose, we worked together as a team in order to correct, and they were always willing to explain the importance and reasons behind the requests/issues.
At closing, all paperwork was clear and concise, and was done in minimal time much to the Seller's amazement since they had a bad experience previously with a VA loan.
Thank you again for a job well done, and I will definitely refer family and friends to Veterans United should the situation present itself.

GFE's should more accurately reflect reality to avoid confusion, time delays, and to give the consumer a better understanding of where their money is going. This should most definitely happen if it has been revised for other reasons already. My experience with this was horrendous.
The people that I dealt with directly loan officers and my realtor were great and very helpful, my realtor was very knowledgeable of the whole process and also stood up for me and was very nice an helpful through the whole process always in a timely manner. My loan officers Brandon Crites and Cameron H. were helpful always nice an calm even when I was the most frustrated. I like the personal touch that Brandon put forth, almost like I know him personally I had a wonderful team. Cameron in the last minutes was great to get the info to me and work with me if the process was being difficult. thanks
The real estate agent that we were linked up with was far from helpful. We met with her the same day that we got to Columbia to begin our stay and our home search. We met with her and she was nice, but had no clue how to get to the homes that she and we had found. I had to navigate, using the GPS on my cell phone the whole afternoon. The next day we were to meet up and go outside of Columbia, to some rural areas, other towns, etc. I tried to make contact that morning and got not reponse. By noon she had made contact with us. She said that she did not feel that it would be worth the trip to go look and she suggested that my husband and I just go drive around and look. She provided a few road/street names to look on.
Tyler and Neisha helped us so much. We did not have to worry about anything to do with the financing or our home. They did a great job.
Although it's a lot of work to get a home loan, Steve and his team made everything seem easy. Everyone supported me through the entire process.
Overall the process was alright. Up front, I would inform the client about what they will experience and go through as far as documentation and proof of assets. Let the barrower understand the process and how deep everyone will dig so that when it is time for it, there are very few surprises.

I can't speak highly enough of Derek Russell. He made what is normally a very stressful experience, very smooth. He should receive some recognition for his extraordinary efforts.
I have already recommended Billy Watkins and Melissa Seboldt to several friends and family. Veteran's United is not a well known company, so several people are hesitant to use this company. Since going through this process, my Realtor is also going to recommend to her clients. She thought the company was amazing to deal with as well.
