Veterans United Home Loans has my highest recommendation for any veteran needing a home loan.
Everyone was very professional, helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend VUHL to my friends and family.

To continue on my previous comment not only was my account poorly handled but every time I spoke to someone I was given a different answer on the status of my account. Given the chance to start the process over I would not use veterans United. For a company that has veterans in the name the knowledge base that was displayed on the ability to read a military leave and earnings statement was shocking. This may be an isolated incident but as a first time home buyer I found the most difficult part of my home buying experience was dealing with veterans United.
Jason's team, specifically Danielle Davis, was great and helped us significantly in the home buying process. All emails were responded to before the close of business that day, and phone calls were returned. I will recommend VU to my Veteran buddies looking for a respectable and professional company. Thanks again.
I am so happy that my wife and I decided to go with the VA home loan. Not only were they kind and friendly, but every question we had was always answered in a timely matter. Derek Flood Lorber was always there when we had questions, and he was always explaining anything and everything my wife and I did not understand or needed help with. If I ever need another loan I will for sure use the VA because they are always taking care of their clients.
Daniel Perry made things happen from my family and I. I told him that I was a very motivated client, and I explained how I had received the run around from another lender for 3 months. Daniel ensured that the loan process ran smoothly, and he stayed in contact with me regularly. He is an exceptional loan specialist, and he should be commended for his fantastic customer service skills. I believe that Daniel truly does care about each of his customers, and that his genuine care for his customers is not just lip service like so many companies deliver. I will highly recommend Daniel and Veteran's United to any of my veteran family or friends that are looking to buy, or refinance a home.
As far as Veterans United goes. You guys did what you said you could do. Stood behind your product. The whole Veterans United team was a delight to work with. Again thank you for what you do for veterans.
The only critique I have is that there was a breakdown in communications that caused the Clear-To-Close to delay a week. I had been fairly and repeatedly adamant about going to closing with no money, whether or not I had money to cover the closing costs. Despite this closing was held up a week while waiting for confirmation that I had $1400 to cover closing costs. If this had been brought up to me immediately I would have been able to quickly resolve the issue. That being said, every other part of the loan process was made much easier than I expected and I would gladly recommend Craig, and VU to eligible family/friends.
Luke has my highest recommendation for future business from anyone I know. I also would like to give credit to Amber Brown for her hard work.
Katie Rose and Patty Kelly were both very professional, personal and friendly. We appreciate all they did to help us out!!!!
Mike was able to get everything done that we needed him to do. That is where the positive feedback ends.
Getting answers, real answers, from Mike was a chore. He had an innate ability to change a simple question into a very complicated one, all the while making it seem as though I was an idiot - mentioning a couple times that "he knows it is hard to understand" when he had not explained anything or come close to answering the question. When I was frustrated with not getting answers Mike told me that he had been complimented before from various people about his communication skills... I told him then and I say it again now: if you need to tell someone you are a good communicator, specifically after dealing with them for a number of weeks/months - you are not a good communicator. Now, I do not claim to be a great communicator - but he did, and he should be... but he isn't.
Mike made reference to us being a "team" a number of times, and this may be a Veterans United protocol but we (me and VU) are not teammates - if anything, we are on opposing teams... VU would present a list of issues (questions) in which we needed to respond to either with paperwork or have someone else provide information on. It was a volley between opposing teams. VU held all of the cards and at any point could have pulled the plug. VU is ledning me money which I pay back with a lot of interest... This is not a TEAM. I told Mike this and he insisted it could not work if I didn't view it as such. I stand by what I said.
At one point Mike made reference to utilizing my complete VA benefits... which included requiring to pay an additional $7k+ VA funding fee... and I am not sure what else, nothing as far as I know. Granted, the loan was no money down and we only would have been able make the mortgage work for us with no down-payment. For that, I am grateful - needing to pay $7k+ for the privilege was not explained to me until well into the process of completing the closing paperwork, and if not for screwing up the entire mortgage process, is completely unacceptable.
This may not be 'politically correct' to say but I constantly had the feeling that he was acting as a sleazy used car salesman, and neither my wife or I appreciated it. There is a very bad taste in my mouth for VU because of him - I would venture to say that everyone else did a great job.
Elaine, Tim O. and Kelley were grat. Everything they told us would happen, did!
Your team is amazing! Even when I called and was unable to talk to Cheryl, the other staff was knowledgeable about my account. When I came in I was greeted in a professional manner and the wonderful receptionist was extremely kind. I will definitely look to Veterans United for our next home buying needs.
