Estimated closing costs were low by $3,000.00. This was unexpected and unwelcomed news. Although they know their way around a VA Loan, they may not have specific knowledge of rates (taxes/insurance/etc..) in your State. For me, it was still a better experience than I have had with “local” lenders in the past. Having to recover the extra $3,000.00 is something I could have done without though.
I was a 1st time home buyer using my VA benefits. First I’d like to thank the VA for having this program. myVA was simply a blessing at guiding me and coaching me along the way. I've used Veteran's United in the past and have had no issues. This time around, there were quite a bit of people involved so it was hard to know who to contact for a specific questions. Also it was very hard to get in touch with someone. There were times where my realtor & I would call multiple times back to back & receive only a voicemail through out the day. The line of communication should be fixed, either have a portal for the client & the realtor or a portal for everyone. Information was missed, not shared, or requested so late, all were getting confused & frustrated. Good people, but the process needs some tweaking.
