My only complaint is with Jamie Jones. The closer that came to the house said the right to cancel docs were not included in what was sent. He called and we were told they were docusigned. She sends a email 2 days later saying “we” failed to signed them, then she sent us some one else’s docs and told us we would not get our funding when we expected.Had it not been for Matt Torres, things would have been completely screwed up.

Overall, it was a great experience. Wonderful, helpful folks. Just a few things could perhaps have been done a little better.
We built a home on land we had purchased years ago and had an existing water wall and septic system. We had to have those systems tested, which makes sense, but we would have liked to have been told that sooner rather than later so we could have been prepared and didn't have to scramble to get them done. Just an advanced heads up that we would have to submit those inspection reports before closing would have been helpful. We also learned that while Veterans United was satisfied with the land survey we had, a new survey was still required after the house was built. Veterans United was not aware of the requirement so we were initially misinformed. I would simply recommend that Veterans United make note of that requirement so future Texas veterans are advised in advance and don't have to go through the last minute turmoil that we did.
There are sometimes misconceptions about a VA loan and that it can be a difficult loan to close, this was our second transaction with VU and it was seamless! I don’t know why someone would use any other company for a VA loan! Veterans United is the best!
