In a hot market, VA loans come with many stipulations that sellers hate. If you can't seem to win offers, consider a local lender and a local real estate agent with a conventional loan if you can afford it.

Response from Veterans United

Hi Christopher, we absolutely recommend shopping for the product that best fits the needs of each individual situation. For the vast majority of military borrowers, VA loans are the most powerful and cost-effective mortgage program on the market. These government-backed loans come with significant financial benefits that help veterans purchase with no money down and no out-of-pocket spending up front, that being said, we HIGHLY recommend comparing VA loans to their counterparts as educating yourself on all loan products is important for prospective borrowers. For example a Conventional loan may be best for borrowers with sterling credit and enough cash on hand for a sizable down payment. A FHA loan may fit best for low- and middle-income borrowers who don’t qualify for no-down payment programs. Whereas a USDA loan would benefit those buyers who live in rural areas. Our hope is that your home serves you well and we invite you to connect with us for any needs in the future.

This is my second time using Veterans United Home Loans. I had an excellent experience with them when I bought our first house. Everything was very easy as far as the paperwork process. Having everything digital and on their secure website made the process go that much faster and smoother! They have a great team set up to answer any question you need and they reply to emails or text right away! You almost feel like they are your pit crew ready to keep you on the track! Best experience I have ever had with any company! They also have very considerate house warming gifts! The home welcome Mat that we received with our new address made the experience and our home that much more special! Thanks again for all you guys do!

After 20 years with the military, I had no time to buy a home. It was always renting. I wanted to buy a home for my family. I had the least involvement with the process. All I had to do was submit all the documents needed. The loan team and the realtor did a lot of the leg work. All I did was choose the home. The key to a successful transition is have access to your iCloud or documents online. Install PDF reader and Docu-sign app. Be straight with all personnel and keep a calendar handy. Most important thing... fix your credit by checking your report before applying.

Thank you Ashley, Jon, Randi, and all of Veterans United for such a wonderful experience. Becoming home owners can be real stressful, but with a team as great as this one, we were able to purchase our home with much less stress than expected.
