One thing I've not had a chance to understand just yet, is why - when I thought I would be getting back most if not all of my $1,000 earnest money - I wound up paying an EXTRA $116.33 at closing?!That is a $1,116 turn-around from where I expected to be, to where we wound up. Missed our tentative closing date due to some unforeseen underwriter requirements, and document resubmissions. No forecasted closing date made at the time. The settlement company contacted us on the day of the closing. Had to reschedule work related travel to facilitate the closing. We were still verifying employment during the closing process? Overall, I was pleased with the experience, and the timeframe to close.
