We are very pleased that we chose Veterans United.
The VA home loan is a great benefit, but be prepared to provide many documents (hopefully in the beginning and not last minute). Standard required forms should be obtained in the beginning of the process. Be aware that everything you provide to the VA home loan agent, then you have to get approval from an underwriter to get the CTC - “Clear to Close” (plus pay for an appraiser). When you think you’re done, you still have to wait for the closing agent to provide paperwork for the actual closing, which in my case delayed the closing date another day. All’s well that ends well! I love my new home and the benefit of a VA home loan. It’s a shame that the process was very stressful and I hope with my constructive criticism it can be improved. Tony and Jake are very nice fellows and they did come thru for me. The system needs to be changed to assure documents are requested at the beginning of the process to eliminate stress and delays. That’s why I could not give it a “10”, but did give it all an “8”.

My loan was bungled from beginning to end. Through ignorance or inexperience I was sent on a wild goose chase for documents that didn’t exist over VA certification. The loan did not close when I requested because they waited until the last minute to work on it. I was left with nowhere to live for a week and had to move twice, once to a storage facility and then into my home. I was repeatedly asked for information I had previously provided. Finally, documents were sent to an incorrect address causing a further rescheduling if the closing. I trust that my experience was not the norm as I had researched Veterans United and they have a good reputation.
