An excellent choice if you are looking to buy a home.
Tonya and Garrett were fantastic! They always went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We hit a few snags but I do really feel like everyone worked hard to help with things that were ultimately out of their control, such as higher than usual flood insurance and unexpected closing cost increase.
Overall I was very happy with Vererans United Home Loans. Buying a home is a long process and it takes time to find the right place at the right price and/ also reach your expectations as a home buyer but Veterans United helped me quite a bit being a first time buyer. They always responded to my requests with urgency and guided me every step of the way threw the whole process which was awesome. My real estate agent from Veterans United was pretty much always able to meet me at any house at any time to do a viewing and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by that. The only thing I wasn't completely satisfied with was the fact that my real estate agent did not send me many listings that met the criteria I specifically requested, which meant that we had to spend a lot of time searching online listings and driving around to find places that might be the right fit. She sometimes didn't explain things. Being a first time home buyer, I knew basically nothing about buying a house, and I felt that should have been taken into consideration more by my agent as far as how she approached the situation. Overall we are extremely happy, we now are officially home owners thanks to Veterans United Home Loans and I am very excited for our future! Twila, Ashley, Kyle, and Holly.. And anyone else I might have missed.. Thank you all so much for your help with everything! And yes, I would recommend Veterans United to a friend!
We are very happy with our experience with Veterans United. Without their help we simply could not have purchased the home we wanted. They were easy to work with and gave us confidence that we would get our home.
It has been a hassle from the start. At times, it seems the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing or did. Some of the required paper work should have been consolidated rather than sending it over a period of time. But then again, what could be expected when dealing with financial intermediaries associated with the government. I feel this process could have been expedited in a more timely fashion. No, any Veteran contemplating dealing with United Home Loans for the soul purpose of purchasing a home loan should seek alternative options. And no, I would not recommend Veterans United Home Loans.

We have had a very positive experience with Veterans United. I would highly recommend this company to everybody.
meant well but very combative and provided incorrect information on so many occasions that I was forced to write her about it. She got better after that, and at the end, went to battle along with her broker against the seller's agent who kept reneiging on promises. I would definitely use her again.
Make sure you get Amanda... The one that deserves a raise.
Veterans United was absolutely the best experience I ever had. I had heard a lot of horror stories about the mortgage process, but everything went very smooth. Even at closing our real estate agent commented on how great Veterans United was through the whole process. Thanks to Steve and Shan for all their hard work!
1. Have all of your financial documentation handy as well as your DD214.
2. For first-time homebuyers, don't be afraid to ask questions regarding what the next steps are and inquire in detail about closing costs. I was under the impression that I would not have any out of pocket costs and I was grossly incorrect. Be prepared to come out of pocket with at least $2000 to $3000 upfront.
3. Be informed about the closing "rebate" program. I was told that I would receive a $200 "reward" at closing and this was not the case. Inquire about the eligibility process.
4. Be sure to ask about utility transfers and any other questions that may come up at closing.
5. There will come a time when you will have "buyer's remorse". Let the feeling pass and enjoy your new home!
This was the most pleasant and satisfying experience I have ever had with any type of service organization. Specifically, ALL my Veterans United representatives were friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire process. I was kept informed of the status for every milestone in the process. I felt extremely confident that they were paying attention to my loan process within all phases of the application, review, and subsequent approval. A Veteran Loan approval process can be very tedious and detailed but this was never an impact to me. Jon McCarthy's team was in-front of all activities and made me aware of all requirements in plenty of time for me to compile/prepare the information. Furthermore, I was surprised and pleased with their ability to find competent and local-area knowledgeable realtors for both selling my house and purchasing a new home. Overall I recommend Veterans United Home Loans whole heartily. 11 out of 10 Stars!! We closed on schedule!! Thanks to everyone on the Team for the successfull result and pleasent experiance
