-VA Funding Fee is too high.
-The strict requirements prevent buyers from purchasing great value homes with major or minor incomplete items, (small things such as tiles, missing a piece of drywall, big things such as old roof, etc.)
-Funding approval takes a long time upon the closing date.

My Veterans United loan officer Greg went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me with the purchase of my new home. Immediately after applying for the loan, Greg reached out within 5 minutes and I was preapproved within 15. I realized his exceptional, meritorious service when he returned all calls as promised. He made countless calls to my finance company, insurance company, etc often holding in queque for an hour or more at times and continued to return calls each and every time as promised. He distinguished himself as an extremely skilled and accomplished professional. He continued to make contact with all necessary agencies until the promised closing date was met, which in my mind was record time of only 3 weeks. Because of Greg I will tell anyone looking to purchase a home with a quality loan company to look no further than Veterans United.

Chelsea, Doug, Anthony, and all who helped me get the home loan did an excellent job. Every thing was done on time and answered every question I had.Thank you guys!

Great service. Was there for me through all of the process

There is a real lack of communication. I had no instructions or anything about what to do during closing day despite me trying to get in contact with my loan officers.During the closing process I had no representation and the only physical thing I was able to see from VU was the gift box that was sent. Such such an emotional moment, I had no person guiding me and was essentially playing phone tag for 3 months. Last minute 48 before closing was told that the insurance stuff I had that you guys set us up with wouldn't work and needed to speedily find someone else.Fees were astronomical compared to friends who used different VA loan companies
Response from Veterans United
Hi Kimo,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling unsupported during such an important milestone.
I understand how disappointing it would be to struggle to reach your loan team, feel uncertain about what to expect on closing day, and not have the guidance you needed throughout the process. Buying a home is a significant and emotional moment, and it's important to feel informed and supported every step of the way. I'm also sorry to hear about the last-minute insurance concerns and your frustration regarding the costs associated with your loan.
I'd like the opportunity to learn more about your experience and review your concerns. Please contact me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages received outside those hours are typically returned the next business day.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
