I would highly recommend Veterans United Home Loans to everyone I know. The loan specialist I was assigned did a wonderful job. The real estate agent, Bella Morris, that was assigned to me was not working at all, all she cared about was getting her commission and taking us to view property that VA will NOT approve of, she also stated that she would change the wording on the documents from Mobile Home, Mfg Home to a Brick house. We had to find a different real estate agent that listened to our needs and wants, was always there for us with any questions we had and also explain the whole home buying process and what to look for. I would also highly recommend Real Estate Agent Sally Bush to anyone.

I had to end up using another realator other then the one i was appointed to by veterans united. In the end it all worked out.

If I hadn't started with Clayton Spruce from the beginning and, instead, began with Tyler and Alexander, then I would have left VU and went with a different company. Tyler was unreliable in answering questions or emails and Alexander could not keep track of paperwork or where my loan was at in the process. I understand not being able to give an exact estimate of closing costs a month out, but they have to have a close estimate 24 hours out, which I never had. The amounts ranged from 1600 back to us, to 1000 back to us, to breaking even, to paying 1700, and finally finding out that I would pay 2500 when I was at the closing table. Alexander was supposed to let me know the price the day before and I had to email him to find out what was going on. At the end of the day I did not have a number, nor did I receive any information from him that there was nothing further that was going to happen that day. If a person is expecting some information and nothing arrives, it would be prudent to inform all parties of that situation instead of ignoring the situation and not contacting anyone until 930 the next day. Also, Alexander would lose paperwork that some had handed him less than a week prior and would not realize he had received a fax a month prior. Why would I want to continue working with a company that loses bank statements and personal identifying information? This is not only a giant mistake on his part but also a failure on his supervisor's part. The only saving grace was my real estate agent, Duan Rockette. He kept us continuously aware of the process, went out of his way to fix situations with VU, and would answer emails and return phone calls in a timely manner.
In conclusion, I only discuss VU with others in order to warn them. But I will brag on the realtor every time. Please feel free to contact me on this situation. Peter J. Thelen 217-316-1804.

My real estate agent was Betty Haas of Kingsville, Tx. Betty was on top of things, and got everything taken care of in a timely manner. Highly recommend Betty anyone needing a real estate agent.

Over all I had a good experience with VU. I was unhappy with two situations.

One is that the loan officers need to be educated on purchases with land and homes and how to insure them. I had to go through a lot of hoops and frustration because I was expected to insure my property for the full value of the loan. In the end, I only needed to insure for the "replacement value" of the buildings because even in a disaster the land would still have much value.

Secondly, my closing papers and HUD form was provided last minute before closing. I was very displeased and this added stress to our already stressful time. A customer should be able to review closing papers and know the CORRECT amount needed to bring to closing before they are on their way to the title company.

Randy, Kai and Sherri were unbelievably helpful with finding a house, to fixing my credit, even pushing my process through quickly. When I felt like changing my mind they reminded me why I shouldn't. They all had my families best intrest. Awesome people!
