I've heard of people especially active duty and prior active duty using various lending institutions to obtain their VA home loan and the experiences of those people have varied from really great to bad. I DID NOT experience one bad thing with veterans united, everything was on time, the online website made it easy to turn in documents they needed. From start to finish this process was awesome. It has been a great first home buying experience for my wife and I.
