My wife and I found working thru an out of state loan provider to be a very stressful process.
On a few occasions we received paperwork with a request to return them to UVHL in a very short (a day or two) time period. Rushing around with signed documents at the end of the day (after we received our mail) to get them faxed or shipped overnight to UVHL is not a process I would do again. I would use/recommend a local bank/mortgage company for any future mortgage needs. This is not to be reflective on Keegan and his team. It's the long distance and time factors which complicates the process.
I think the only problem we had was having to submit information multiple times. Resending forms and letters that had already been sent that for whatever reason did not make it into the file and they would request it again. Another example is the request to fill out a form again that there were no changes to. This took up the homebuyer's time and was frustrating when it happened over and over again. But Derek was fantastic and make this process great.
We are blessed beyond belief that Veterans United was there to guide us through the entire home loan process. I would definitely recommend your company to any veteran with superior confidence. We worked together to reach my ultimate goal of owning a home any Veteran would be proud of.... Veterans United ~ I Salute You, You and You!!! HOOAH!!
He was ALWAYS right there with us every step of the way. Awesome.
Alan, Ashley, and Kendra were all great to work with. Closed on my home in record timing.
As I mentioned earlier, the real estate agents recommended by the VA, as VA trained agents, were less than acceptable. Both for selling our house and buying the new one in a different state. The agent in Indiana even told us she pays to get leads from the VA, and I found her difficult. I did not use her. In my previous VA home loan I did not use a VA referred agent and everything went fine. As far as the the VA portion of the loan, my VA Loan Officer took care of that portion, just like Joe Ferling did, and that worked out just fine. I continued to use the agent in Florida as they had already started working for us but was very unhappy with their work.
