The end result was worth the effort with a significant savings in monthly mortgage payment, but holy smokes was this a painful underwriting process. Being a realtor and real estate investor for most of my adult life, I have been through many, many (think- hundreds) mortgage underwriting processes. This was absolutely grueling.
