There was a lack of communication between the team members during our home buying process. As with many military families, our situation is unique with separation at times. We were forth coming with our situation right from the beginning and it seems as though someone dropped the ball. The information needed in order to obtain the loan seemed excessive, i.e. divorce documentation from 24 years prior for the female spouse. Never was the male spouse requested to provide divorce documentation - sexual discrimination?
I think it would be helpful if vuhl streamlined its\' paperwork collection process some how. There were times that I was asked to send in the same paper work several times to different people. It would have saved time and paper if everything was put in the same place by each person so it was all together.
They got us preapproved really fast, then all of a sudden 2 weeks before closing (even though they had 6) decided to tell us we were missing this, this and this.. even though we were never told they needed it so we didn't know it was "missing". We got everything back to them in a timely manner ( that same day or the next). Then they say well we still need this, once again we didn't know they ever needed it. Then we call them time and time again with no answer and no returned called. Then papers we got them were not good enough even though that's what they asked for. Out interest rate that we locked in a month previous all of a sudden never happened because we didn't talk to a certain person which we didn't know any better since a lady called us to "lock it in". Our loan officer calls to lock it in a month later and said it went up and we would have to pay money to bring it back down, which made no sense, since we previously locked it in with a different lady. Our closing date got pushed out because of the tardiness on their end to go through all the papers. In the end they were able to put a "rush" in to the underwriters. Overall I am happy we are over this because I was fed up with the customer service we received.
Organize of data needs to be improved. I was asked for the same information multiple times. The wrong information was sent to my titling agency and the underwriting process had to be rushed in order to meet my deadline. I am very disappointed in the service, I had to encourage my loan officer to work hard and try to meet my deadline. As a paying customer I should not have to encourage employees to do their jobs. I will never recommend this company to anyone and I will not be using it in the future.
