Have the loan officer's have more knowledge of what is available as far as government grants or loans to cover cost of a/c/water heaters, etc. We were told that we were eligible for extra monies for these things up to $6,000. It was not included in our closing pkg. When we questioned it, first we were told, we didn't ask for it. Not true, it was the loan officer, who told us about it, in the first place. Secondly, when we said we wanted it to be included, he said it was too late. A day later we were told, by our loan officer that we were not eligible, because it was a forclosure. We don't know if this was true or if we were just told that not to have your organization redo the closing papers.

Chandra Heartland is not an asset to your company. She is very rude on the phone, when you are talking she just interrupts you and talks right over you like you aren't even on the line with her. We have bought and sold seven houses in our adult life and we have never had so much trouble and lack of attention paid to the purchase of a house, at one point we had to fax her the same sheet of information three different times. She would not return phone calls,we did not call her excessively at all, that made me wish we had not gone with your company. My wife and I are both Veterans, she the Air Force and myself the Navy. I am still a Veteran's Service Officer today. I am a Veteran's Advocate and I would not recommend your company to my Vets. My wife is a Registered Nurse, we both have college degrees and we are professional people. With Ms Hartland's rude and unprofessional manner, I am surprised you have any customers at all. Please be assured it gives me no pleasure writing this survey response. I expect you to return the $20.00 you took out of our checking account, that was how much the bank charged us for you checking to see if we had an account. I guess that is what you were trying to do.Which added insult to injury. Sincerely, Henry Michael Knodel
While the service from Veterans United was exceptional, the communication from the loan officer could have been better. Both myself, and my realty agent (Agi Donahue) experienced a lack of communication with my loan officer (Will McCullah). Several emails and messages sent to my loan officer were never responded too. I understand that loan officers stay pretty busy, but to wait for a week or more for a response is just not good business. I will say that in the end, toward closing, my loan officer did step up the communication and provided me with daily updates on the closing progress. While I would definitely recommend VUHL to any veteran looking to purchase a home, I would caution them on finding the appropriate home loan officer.
