more office and agents to deal with different timezones
The transaction coordinator was a lot of the time rude and disrespectful in his emails and very pushy. I felt he was constantly speaking and writing to me like I was a child. I had to send information multiple times throughout the process. other than that my over all experience was ok. I thought my first time buying a home would be fun and exciting not upsetting and stressful as it was. I am glad the process is over and I have a home for my family now. At one point I received a touching card and gift from a female member of that team and I really appreciated that. The one little gift made me feel better during a hard time, it was a very nice personal gesture that made me feel appreciated.
The Preapproval process was okay, but the rush to get documents made it difficult for me. First the realtor I was referred to didn't do anything unless I contacted her. The second realtor was fantastic working to help find a house that works with my disabilities. Once I found the house, I was in a paperwork nightmare with your company. One example is my tax returns, I signed the forms at least three times. It seemed as every other day I was having to provide more paperwork. Your employee was unable to get my tax return information from the IRS, yet I went to my local IRS office and had the forms in a matter of minutes. I feel I should have been provided a list of what was needed, it would have made it easier for me the client. Then 2 days before closing, I was told the house needed to have a vapor barrier. This is not required in Delaware. Your employees need to be trained in the different requirements for different states.
Seems to work well to me.
This was my first home loan process. Although I knew that home loans do take awhile to process, I started my laon on feb 2, and didn't close until late early may. However my two different loan offices I had were great. I also had a third loan officer that jumped in right before closing because my primary had gone on vacation, that lady seriously worked her tail off to close my laon as fast as possible I really believe if it wasn't for her that I'd probably still be trying to close today.
My experience was unique, but Lee Sattler and Morgan Evans did an outstanding job doing everything they could to make sure I was able to get the best possible loan terms. That being said, I believe that having a better understanding of all letters and information needed prior to the underwriting assessment would have made the loan process a little less stressful. I understand that this is just a part of the mortgage process, but a outline of everything needed to process the loan might be helpful if given within the first week or so of the loan application process. The problems I faced in securing a home loan really had absolutely nothing to do with anyone at VU. It had more to do with the current market, availability of quality homes within my price range, and the overall character of some sellers. Thank you for this opportunity to do business with your company. As I stated previously, Lee and Morgan did an exemplary job in helping me through this process and I would personally recommend them to anyone who asks for information on how to apply and secure a VA home loan.Sincerely,Marc HanberryP.s. I like to use big words. It makes me feel smarter than I actually am.
