We were very pleased with our experience from beginning to end! We started working with Connor Kyle and have nothing but amazing things to say about him! He played a huge part in getting us prepared to buy a home! Then we worked with Sam Brown and Melissa Longston and they were both phenomenal and easy to work with! We have nothing but positive feedback with our experience with VU, we are so appreciative of everyone we worked with!

Shane is the reason I was able to move forward with buying a home and actually feel confident throughout the process. From the start, he made sure I understood everything and always made me feel like I was in good hands with a knowledgeable and supportive team.At one point, I decided to pause and wait about a year before moving forward. Even then, Shane stayed in touch, answered all my questions, and checked in regularly just to see if I needed anything. That level of consistency and support really stood out.When I was ready again, he connected me with a fantastic agent and helped make the entire process smooth.I can’t recommend Shane and Veterans United enough.

I started working with Ross Mclanahan and his team at Veterans United about 3 years ago and just couldn’t find the right home. They helped me navigate through 4 different choices in just the last 6 months. They were always available, and when they couldn’t take my calls they would call me back within 15-30 minutes during business hours. Oftentimes they would stay late to assist me. When I got frustrated they maintained professionalism and went above and beyond. Ross went well beyond what I expected and got my rate down to something in the 4% with what I can only call “imaginary money magic.”

Overall, everything worked out well.
The prices/fees are higher than a lot of the other options out there.
Working with your own bank or credit union would probably result in a cheaper outcome or even with other online loan platforms.
The whole process went smoothly and the customer service and communication was excellent.

Nick made me feel so safe going through this process. I have trust issues and I can be pretty pessimistic about things, but Nick was wonderful in explaining everything to me, giving me updates on the process at every stage. He really listened to my concerns and focused on allaying them. He was also very proactive preemptive, bringing up questions that I had but hadn’t been able to formulate and verbalize yet. He was kind and approachable without being the overly enthusiastic, over bearing “salesman” type. I could let my guard down.

This is my second loan with Veterans United. The first time my experience was perfect. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't so great. My original loan officer left for maternity leave, congrats to Erinn she was amazing with my first experience. When the second team took over my loan process it was NOT great! There was a lack of communication from my loan coordinator (Jaclyn). There were several errors made by her that almost cost me the house I was trying to purchase. She gave us the clear to close date and it didn't happen. She supposedly sent the info to the VA for approval on a date only to find out that she sent it six days later. I literally had to call the VA 3 times and do the footwork to get the correct dates and approval conformation. Once the actual loan officer (Kat) from Veterans United got involved the process started moving in the positive direction. It was extremely stressful!! We closed 9 days after the original date. I'm not sure if I would use Veterans United again. I'm only recommending because of my 1st experience with Erinn and the effort that Kat did when she got involved.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I’m really glad to hear your first experience with Erinn stood out in such a positive way, but I’m sorry this second loan didn’t live up to that same standard. What you described around communication gaps, timeline confusion, and needing to step in yourself sounds incredibly frustrating, especially during something as important as buying a home.

I’m also sorry for the stress caused by the delay in your clear to close and the closing being pushed back. That kind of uncertainty can make an already complex process feel overwhelming. While I’m glad Kat was able to step in and help move things forward, it’s clear the experience leading up to that point fell short of what you should expect from us.
