I used to work overseas and out of state for years until I decided to settle down. I read reviews of other veterans on several forums about VU, their rates, and customer service. Although I heard alot of negative things like taking advantage of veterans who think they can only get a VA loan through VU, my experience was a positive one. I did browse through other lenders and felt VU had the best terms. In the beginning I spoke with my assigned loan officer Nathan Anderson and he explained the terms of the loan in a manner I could understand as a first time home buyer. After I finally found a home, we had a group email chain that kept me informed about each and every turn. It felt like a conference call within a large company where I felt like I was placed at the head of the table, all through the screen of my personal phone. I read in between breaks at work, scheduled calls at convenient times, and at the end of the day. When something did come up where I had some doubts, the team scrambled to find a solution and did the leg work for me even if it was something I could've done on my own. I dont know if it's finally having my own home or the graceful experience I had through this process, but I dont have enough good words to thank the team for putting me in this position. I hope this feeling is here to stay for good and I can find a team like that to navigate my own personal life! Thank you for helping me find my way home.
