The process could be streamlined a little more and not have so many well tests done and a little bit better communication between you and the person borrowing the money and not adding the third person on your end during the process.

I thought everyone did an excellent job. Everyone kept me posted on every step along the way with one minor exception, not knowing how much I needed to bring to close. Dan O'hearn was a knowledgable loan officer who kept me appraised all through the process of my loan. He and his supporting staff had our loan "clear to close" a week before our scheduled closing date. I appreciate his and everyone's effort from Veterans United. Thanks again.

What a great experience. The team effort of Misty Alexander, Matt McDaniel and Whitney Elliot was incredible. Shortly after I submitted my request on line to Veterans United I received a call from Misty. This started the ball in motion. She was very pleasant and explained how the process works. My pre-qualification was established within a day or two and the form package arrived promptly. Then Matt came into the picture, he spent time to get to know me and advised me on what would be possible and when I found a house to move on he jumped all over it, WHAT A PROFESSIONAL! All requests for information and documents that were asked for was reasonable and understandable each item asked for was fully explained as to why they were needed. Matt and Whitney worked together to finalize the loan process with superb attention to detail. I want to personally thank Misty, Matt and Whitney for their hard work, job well done! The overall experience was great. Very good communication and a quick closing. My realtor and I were impressed with Amanda Lakso's performance. She's good.
Two areas of opportunity: 1. There was a last minute request for a power of attorney document that I think should have been a routine request for information at the beginning. 2. At the closing table the closing agent demanded that my wife be present for signing. Amanda specifically told my realtor, in an email, that my wife did not have to be present. This was very surprising, upsetting, inconvenient and stressful. Luckily my wife was able to shuffle the kids and her agenda and made it to the closing within an hour.
Despite the negative experience at closing I feel VU did a great job. Thank you Mason and team.

Winsor Cooper did an excellent job throughout the loan process. He was quick to provide responses to questions. He was always professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to work with! We originally looked into another common lender for military members but were denied after originally being pre-approved. After talking to Veterans United we were pre-approved in minutes! The loan process was quick and simple!
One suggestion for a smoother experience is for everyone involved in the loan to get together and compare any documents that may have already been received, before asking for those same documents a second and maybe even a third time. The customer is already overwhelmed with the whole process and this just adds to frustration when the same documents have to be e-mailed or faxed 2 or 3 times. Just a suggestion. Thanks, The Medlins
