Complaint about the other parties that Veterans United hires. Our appraiser came a day earlier than agreed upon and then failed us and then charged us to come out again. When they came a second time they did not update the majority of the appraisal, just what had failed. And not small things, new central air, furnace, electrical, plumbing and septic were ignored or hardly mentioned.
The Underwriter failed our loan because they misread one of the comp properties as being our property, and that property had bad septic with seepage. We have a new septic with no seepage. The underwriter apparently could not read the appraisal. This is two different ways this very simple home loan could of been torpedoed by subpar outside parties. We had to point out these two discrepancies, without doing so we may not have been able to purchase the home.
The entire team of Chelsea, Crystal, and Chris were phenomenal. I have been through the home buying process a few times, but never as my own buying agent. The journey was daunting in the beginning, but with the VU team behind us, we were able to navigate the process with relative ease and very few hiccups. A big shout out to the entire team for helping us make it to the finish line.
Justin was fantastic and super helpful throughout the entire process. I look forward to doing any of my mortgage needs with Justin.
I am thankful, happy and excited to have my new home, and to be settled once more after having rented for several years. I cannot put into words how grateful I am.
Veterans United is the place to go. Check Shawn and his crew. They’re on it! And will cruise with you to the end.
Fees, fees, and more fees! Veterans United just kept adding more fees. We were NEVER asked to authorize a loan rate lock, but they did it at a higher rate than nationally advertised VA mortgage rates and then kept extending that high rate with additional fees every few days! Look elsewhere for lower closing costs and mortgage imitation fees!!!
Response from Veterans United
Hey Dale,
I'm really sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with fees and the rate lock during your loan process. This is definitely not the experience we want for our borrowers, especially our veterans who deserve the best service possible.
I'd like to understand more about what happened with your loan and the fees you mentioned. Could you reach out to our Client Advocate team so we can look into this further? You can contact us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We're in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but please feel free to reach out anytime.
Shari was perfect. She always kept me informed of items that were needed before they were posted. She did a Fantastic job. Thank you Sheri. Danny was exceptional and all were knowledgeable. The process was smooth. It was much simpler than other home loan processes I have experienced in the past. My sincerest thanks to the Team.
I would recommend Veteran United over and over again.Fantastic process and everyone was calling me and keeping me abreast of each step of the process and closing was sweet and easy because of Shannon Workman and his team.
A very professional organization. You could always find out exactly were you were in the process. I couldn't have asked for a better set of individuals to work with.
