
My team was awesome. I applied for a loan with the builder in April 2022. I gave them every document requested in a timely manner. They gave me a closing date for July 25th. Over 90 days passed with no word from the lender. I contacted them on July 10th and learned that they did not approve my loan and needed more info. I provided it. Finally I asked to be released from the lender to obtain funding elsewhere. They did and I contacted Mark. He still had me in the system from a previous mortgage in 2015. He requested the usual documents and Lord behold, after a few days in underwriting I found myself at the settlement table two weeks later. Everyone seemed in sequence with one another during the process. I can't think of anything to complain about.

Given our circumstances, two retirees one of which was a disabled Viet Nam veteran who is self-employed seemed to have posed difficulty with the underwriters. At times it appeared that we were being unfairly scrutinized especially as African Americans.
The appraisal was not in-line with the housing in the immediate area and to challenge it would have delayed our closing, yet again. All and all, we got through it and we love our home. Again, Mark was fantastic!
