As a previous homeowner that used Veteran’s United in the past, the service provided for my new house was simple: a VA loan assumption. I had a positive experience previously with VU and felt good about using them again. However, from the beginning several stark differences presented themselves that led to a disappointing home buying experience. Communication, or lack thereof, was the biggest with a LOT of miscommunication or no communication at all between the two loan officers and myself. I gave responses and submitted paperwork updating the to-do list in a timely manner and wasn’t given the same courtesy. When mistakes were made or lack of attention to what needed to be accomplished before closing happened on the VU side, blame was put on the buyer and seller and no apologies were issued. Those details ended up in a delayed closing of two weeks, which could have been easily preventable. I was also thrown new policies that were put in place with no explanation or break down of what they entail (premium on home insurance being one). Terrible customer service overall and am now walking away from this experience with a bad taste in my mouth of Veteran’s United and the services they offer.
