It is very important to a buyer that closing cost and expected payment be as accurate as possible. We struggled getting an accurate estimate for closing cost. In addition I was told day before closing my payment would be one number and at closing it was about $300 more a month. There is no reason this should be so inaccurate. It’s also very important to be available at the time your submitting an offer to get questions answered and documents needed. I had to do my own research to get estimated closing accurate to make my offer to the seller. We also asked not to have the Appraisal completed until after option period and to wait until we give the approval to order. It was ordered without our approval. Had we decided not to move forward with this purchase during option we would have wasted money on the appraisal.Overall there needs to be more attention to detail. If the loan officer is too busy or has personal obligations going on, another loan officer should be available to step in.
I appreciate everything that your team has done to make our home purchase as smoth as possible. It was unexpected and truly helpful.
Veterans United made a dream come true that I thought was impossible! I stepped into the home buying process with no knowledge, and now I feel confident and comfortable with everything that has happened throughout the process. From the very beginning to the day I received the keys to my home, Veterans United blew me away. I highly recommend Veterans United!
Using Veteran's United was the easiest home buying experience i have ever seen, they handled everything on the VA side and my job was to simply fill in any info on current employment and then just sit back and let them work!! Fantastic lender to work with and great people all around as well!
I'm 'very' happy with my home-buying experience with Veterans United and the team they assembled for my needs.
I have never received such an impressive group of people to help me along the way. Everyone that worked with me went above and beyond.Thank you

Veterans United made our home buying experience very easy. Our realtor was very impressed with them and intends to recommend them to his clients who will be using a VA Loan.
Very helpful. Very informative. You all are very nice. I really enjoyed my experience with you all. Thank you so much for everything
My team went above and beyond to make purchase happen
The process was almost too long easy.
I believe the $12k I had to pay out of pocket did not represent a no money done 100% Disabled Veterans with over a 700 credit score. My interest rate is too high and my $3500 origination fee is as well. I was lied too.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Isidore,
I’m really sorry to hear how disappointing and frustrating this experience has been for you. It’s completely understandable to feel concerned when your out-of-pocket costs, interest rate, and fees don’t match what you expected going into the process.
Hearing that you feel misled is especially concerning. You should always feel confident that your loan terms, including any costs and fees, are clearly explained so you can make informed decisions every step of the way. When that doesn’t happen, it can leave you feeling caught off guard and let down.
I’d really like the opportunity to take a closer look at your loan details, including how your costs and rate were presented, so we can better understand what happened and provide you with clear answers.
If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’re happy to follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Easy to work with, no hassle, prompt. Amy and her crew that worked on our refinance our hands down the best at what they do. I have worked with a few loan companies, this crew is the best. Highly recommend using them.
This was my third time using VU for my home loan. They are awesome. Their app makes the whole process easy. You simply check the app for any, "To Do" items, take care of those items and the next thing you know, you get the, "Clear to close." Hoarce Johnson and Evan Heath did an outstanding job getting my loan approved. They both stayed in touch, ensuring all my questions or concerns were addressed on a timely manner. I would highly recommend (and have recommended) VU to anyone I know who is looking to buy a house.
