I choose Veterans United for any home buying needs. I highly recommend their services, and everyone on my team provided exceptional customer service. Kudos to Veterans United; I give them a 10-star review.

My only negative is that the closing cost which is not the fault of Veterans United was excessive as if you add the buyers and sellers closing cost together was over $30,000. They did tell me that the VA charges a funding fee until after I started my loan and that was $8,100. I guess everyone has to get paid even the government, but don’t let them tell you that you have a no money down VA loan because with all the fees I paid $17,000 that did not bring my loan down one penny. I’m not upset just want to give a very honest review. If I had to do it over with Veterans United I would definitely use them. Good luck on your new home purchase.

Being a first time home buyer brought on a lot of emotions! However, we were hardly stressed because of the great communication we had from Tim and our agent. We were taken care of so well, and we appreciate all the hard work from everyone at VU! Thank you all for being so amazing!!

I have avoided doing this review because I don't really have much nice to say. Going through this process was a miserable experience. Go to a local bank or credit union. Doing this over the phone and the internet is so difficult. I'm sure my opinions on Veterans United world be different if I was able to communicate with them face to face on a daily basis.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Bruce, thank you for providing these details around your loan experience. We encourage people to shop around with several lenders to find the best deal and means of communication for them! Veterans United Home Loans has specialized in the VA home loan for more than a decade, and understand how third party delays can cause frustrations. We are glad that in the end, you were able to obtain home loan financing. Ultimately, it is appropriate to consider how loan approval guidelines are developed and maintained. The discretionary aspects of the loan process can at times provide needed flexibility, especially when it comes to water testing. We appreciate your perspective and invite you to contact our Client Advocate team directly to continue the conversation.

During this entire refi process I took notice of something that could be improved. Once dry closing/signing was complete, days pass without an update. This is not a new thing. After several days you get notified your loan was complete or funded. At this point wire transfer of funds happens and the customer has expectations of seeing funds distributed within 24hrs. At 48 hours you wonder why. At 72 hours it feels like something is wrong. I was able to get confirmation letters day 4, but I had to make two calls to make that happen. Day 5 funds move but takes another day to show up and be recognized. Now we are 9 days after closing/signing. To me this process should include a couple of confirmation notices. One for day/time funding is sent to company distributing funds and a second confirmation when funds are actually distributed. This gap of no updates is too large for such an important transaction involving large sums of money. Thanks for reading this and I hope it helps improve the experience for others.

I am referring Tim to a few friends!

I would definitely recommend Veterans United for your home buying experience! As a first time home buyer, Cindy Woodham was extremely helpful, offered top notch customer service, and made my experience very easy.
