Thank you to Michael and Jake!
Great team and always willing to help and stay in touch
Please don’t think that I have not forgotten about the other members of the loan process team. They were also Great. I’m only giving a rating of 10, because that’s the highest on the scale, but Michael Peters and his team deserve alot more credit than that. I thank God for the team as well. I pray that God allows me to do more business with everyone again.
Veterans United Home Loans helped me to use the equity in my home to payoff debit and put me in a better place for retirement.
Thanks!! 🇺🇸

We have financed/refinaced seversl home over the past 30+ years. No lender has even come close to you in terms of required documentation,, verifications, questions, etc. We felt like you were trying to get to no. For example, you called my employer and asked a series of questions about my compensation, future compensation, prospects for continued employment, etc. Then, 3 days before the closing you emailed them a document asking the same questions. No lender ever asked more than, is he employed here and how long has he been an employee. The fees seemed excessive. When we first applied, the amount needed to close was $121,000. The rate we wanted was 5,75 with 1/2 point. Our loan officer talked us into letting it float. At the time, there was a belief that rates would decline. They did not. We had to bring $141,000 to the closing. We have it, but I can imagine some borrowers may have had trouble finding that much extra cash at the last minute. Your employees were professional and responsive. The process and fees are not dictated by them. We were so displeased with the process we almost paid cash.
Response from Veterans United
Michael, we appreciate your honest feedback and we are glad that your experience with your loan was positive. Our Client Advocate team is here for you to help ensure an outstanding customer service experience, and we invite you to connect with us further. We understand that the underwriting process did not meet your expectations. Licensed Underwriters comply with regulations to ensure loans are properly documented (including a final verification of employment or your FVOE completed right before closing), and we work to make that process as easy as possible. The mortgage process can certainly feel intrusive, but we want to reassure you that this in-depth analysis is a worthwhile step. The underwriting process serves to protect the integrity of our industry and families who might otherwise fall into a financial hardship. While rates do fluctuate day to day, discussing the details around your final closing figures is part of our commitment to deliver outstanding service. It is our goal to be there for you every step of the way to explain and demonstrate all changes. We appreciate your calling attention to this aspect and will always be available if you wish to discuss in greater detail.
Overall the experience was great
I have bought several homes over the years and this was my second purchase using the VA. This was by far the most professional team I have ever had the pleasure to work with during a loan applicatiion process all the way through to closing. It was an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend Veterans United to anyone seeking a VA loan.
