My refinance experience was extremely frustrating. The biggest issue was the lack of clear communication throughout the process. I was constantly receiving new requests for documents, with no proper explanation of why they were needed or how they affected the process. The process felt like an endless list of requirements without transparency or guidance. What was initially presented to me as the expected closing cost kept increasing, and by the end, the cash needed at closing had grown by approximately $3,000 compared to the original estimate.I understand that refinancing can require documentation and adjustments, but better communication, transparency, and proactive updates would have made the experience much less stressful. Unfortunately, the lack of clarity and the unexpected increase in costs left me disappointed with the overall service.
Emmett and Landon were the greatest to work with. I felt as if we became family for 7 months. I thought our house was beyond fixing but Emmett made the process very easy and talk me through a lot of tough days. Emmett and Landon saved our lives and I will never forget it. Veterans united made the process of refinancing a breeze and everyone in the process was very nice and helpful. Everyone got back to us in a timely matter. I can’t thank everyone of you enough.
Ashley was the greatest she moves fast answer all the questions that I had
The process was pretty simple at the start. Apply for a loan, get pre-approved, find your home, and complete the tasks in your VU app. Where it gets complicated is underwriting, finances, appraisals, and paperwork processing. There is a lot of uploading documents and filling out paperwork as expected. Every application is different of course but my experience was good overall with some absurd hiccups. The longest part of my process was the appraisal which I thought was funny and frustrating. After reaching out to my loan officer and contacting the VA about the appraisal everything went smoothly. Expect to answer lots of phone calls, but leave lots of voicemails and emails. While it is annoying, they will get back to you as soon as they can. Overall, it wasn’t amazing but it was a good experience.
I wish the process was a little more smoother. Particularly the to-do checklist, on countless times I completed my tasks to find new tasks afterwards. If all tasks, regardless if it is relevant or not the applicant, were to be placed up front for the applicant to complete. Instead of waiting to be told what was next, I think this would speed the process up a little. Tasks that do not pertain to the applicant could be marked Not Applicable.
Very intense experience. So much paperwork! But worth it in the end.
This is the 3rd time I have used Veterans United and as always they are exceptional at what they do.

For a first time home buyer, my Veterans United team was truly amazing. They left no stone unturned and made this process seamless and stress free. You guys are truly amazing!
When we first decided to purchase a home, we felt the stress and anxiety that comes with such a major decision. However, our fears were quickly put to rest when we were introduced to our Veteran's United team. Our wonderful loan officer Chace Tuck was there to guide us throughout the entire process. Chace was always available to answer our questions and address any concerns we had. Our amazing realtor Jen Riley worked so diligently in the search for our dream home. She helped us reach our goal and made the journey there both memorable and enjoyable. Jen taught us so much along the way, helping us build up the confidence needed to make such an important decision. As first time home buyers, we were blown away by the level of care and professionalism shown by our Veteran's United team. They truly simplified the homebuying process from start to finish. Thank you all for making this the best experience possible!
