I contacted several companies to learn what would be involved to refinance my home mortgage utilizing the VA refinance program. Of all the companies contacted, only Veterans United took the time to initially explicitly explain the process. From that very first phone call and throughout the entire process, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism. There was never any circumstance in the process that created any doubt about the personnel, the organization and their desire to help a veteran. I have purchased and refinanced numerous homes in my lifetime. Working with Veterans United was the first time I have experienced a level of professionalism and a honest concern to help a veteran in a most dignified manner to refinance their mortgage. I am so glad I contacted Veterans United. From the beginning to the end of the process, it was easy, pleasant, and very productive. Far more than I ever expected.
My only recommendation is don't try to refinance your home during a hurricane!! We ran into some delays with our closing due to Hurricane Florence but everything worked out in the end.

It works a lot better if your are computer literate, than if not . But the people are always there if you need assistance.
Other lenders would just encourage me to either get VA or conventional loan, while Veterans United would explain difference in interest rates and down payments between VA, FHA and conventional loan.

My husband and I were trying to get a loan from another mortgage lender, but we wanted a second opinion as the process was not smooth and the customer service was lacking. We were told we needed more income so we thought we'd have to put another family member on the loan. I called Veterans United and we were approved same day without needing a cosigner! And we bought a foreclosure! We are first time home buyers and this process was just so smooth and painless. I really appreciate our lender, Bo Clapp, and his excellent customer service skills. My fellow veterans, just like the military preaches... communication is key. I would have to say to a fellow veteran to be calm and patient and do the best you can to communicate with your team. Hostility won’t get you anywhere. Remember time can’t be stopped and things can be fixed with the right amount of time. Good luck to all!!
