Devon and his assistant, Elaine, were very helpful and answered every question I had in a timely manner. Devon helped me get a much lower rate than other mortgage companies and is ultimately saving me a substantial amount of money. He and Elaine worked quickly and kept me updated on the status of my loan, even without asking. The method of submitting paperwork online was very convenient, and security of your personal information is not an issue. Both Devon and Elaine were professional, polite, and made the entire process essentially stress-free. I've had 3 mortgages so far in my life. The first was an FHA through a 5 letter banks that starts with C- and We've had nothing but issues, hidden fees, and policies meant to make it harder for us to keep our home than to stay in it. The other 2 mortgages have been trough Veteran's United and they have been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable during every step of the process. When we were getting our mortgages, they helped us find insurance companies that might be able to give us better rates. After we had our mortgage, their customer service reps were polite and friendly when we had questions. They helped up through the sale of 1 of our houses. I wouldn't let the other Vets in my family go anywhere else for their home loans.
I would say ask as many questions as you can. It can be a complicated process at times and I really appreciated having an almanac of people more versed in this than I am. Even from a distance I felt a lot of support from my team.
