VA is always advertising the zero costs to close and low interest rates. We did not feel we truly received any special discounts or advantages for using the VA loan. Too bad we were days away from closing when the shock hit us of the high interest rate and closing costs. There was no backing out and starting over then so we just went ahead with it.
Overall it was fantastic....the loan process itself was extremely time consuming and arduous but the staff was outstanding at accommodating us when we had to provide additional documentation....even staying later on two occasions. They made it alot easier with positive attitudes and great communication.
VU made home buying for us super easy and fast. The website was very user friendly and always notified us.
