Mrs. McClellan was not able to adequately explain the exact regulations or laws pertaining to having to disclose the source of our income. As a Veteran Retired Law Enforcement Executive of more than 36 years experience I felt we should have been shown the specific regulations or laws, and not just told that they had changed and that's the way it is now. I may be a little sensitive to the issue since it seemed to go toward trust. I have a career long reputation of truth and integrity and if this were an employment background you would have no doubt as to my trustworthiness. I don't think there was anything in mine or my wife's financial records that would even remotely shown we had ever done anything illegal. Further while we are not perfect we have never defaulted in any way on a home or car loan which are the two largest purchases most Americans make. In the end Mrs. McClellan worked it out to our satisfaction but we had never been put through such a long and drawn out process on a home purchase ever! At some point we did not know if we were dealing with Mrs. McClellan or with Mrs. Kris Batey and at times the two of them did not seem to know what the other was doing. We received duplicate e-mails from them more than once. Toward the end of the process things did seem to smooth out. I would also like to say that both Mrs. McClellan and Mrs. Batey were always professional and friendly and even when I became frustrated and told them that we thought the process was becoming ridiculous and that we may just walk away and use our previous home lender they remained professional and assured us that they would work any issues out. Lastly, we were disappointed that no one from Veterans United was at the closing. It all worked out in the end and we are satisfied that we received the best interest rates possible given that rates are on the bubble right now and set to go higher.

This was my first time applying for a mortgage loan. I had heard so many horror stories of getting a mortgage but I experienced none of that. I was in a time crunch to find a place for my family to leave when I changed duty stations, Veterans United made this a quick and painless process.
Incredibly easy experience. We look back now after our escrow has closed and see that we were in very good hands with the team from Veterans United San Diego. Caleb, Estefany, Denny, and the rest of the team that made our loan possible were there for us every step of the way. I enjoyed the more relaxed approach to securing a home loan. The loan side was smooth and a joy to watch run smoothly. The title company's work, however, clearing up the chain of title report was the most stressful part. This was because of a name issue with the seller after a divorce and the title company's choice of attorney to assist with the coming up with a solution to the situation but in the end we got it done!The Loan side was MUCH EASIER and SMOOTH.
