Brad and Lauren where outstanding!
The overall process took too long. Many of the documents requested had duplicate information on them and could have been sourced from the documents provided instead of asking me to provide more information. Request for documentation never ended. Initial request "to do" list is not accurate. After completing to do list, I was asked 4-5 times more on different occasions for additional documents. I was also asked for documents that were later determined that I did not need to provide. I was also asked for documents that legally I had no obligation to provide. The business is supposed to be Veteran friendly, yet I had to prove over and over that I was in fact active duty military. After I proved that I am active duty going on 29 years, they still wanted more proof of current operations. Most importantly, midway through my application process, Veterans United decided to add the 2 part verification process to login to the website. The only method to verify is by phone txt and entering in the code onto the web page. For ALL U.S. Navy sailors, there is no phone coverage onboard ships. Once the txt verification was added, I could no longer access my account online at work. Now that I'm at sea, I still cannot access my account online. I told my loan specialist this info and recommended that the site add EMAIL as an option for the 2 part verification process. To this day, it has not been added. Based on this and my previous comments, I can not recommend Veterans United to other Sailors in the Navy.
Everyone did a great job in answering my questions quickly and very friendly!!
I had a great time working with Veterans United. From Jessica Mueller at the very beginning to Andrew Nelson and Zach Gunter at the end of this..it was a blessing. Thanks Ira
I received quotes and signed paperwork stating that my APR would be 3.75% and came to find out that I was not locked in. My APR rose to 4% and I had to lock in at that rate. I felt like I was pointed in the wrong direction and wanted to switch lenders, but I stuck it out because we were less than 2 weeks out from closing. Then, the Friday before closing, I received a call saying that we were not going to close on time after I had been told we were on track up until that point. I had been proactive and had already requested a PCS, contacted the moving company, scheduled all services to be turned on and called off work. Once I brought this to my lenders attention, I was then informed that the lender had a death in the family and that he was sorry that my packet wasn't worked but he "didn't ask for his uncle to put a gun in his mouth and blow his brains out". To say the least, this was a very stressful experience and on top of that, it was during the holidays. I see no point to give a close date, if the explanation offered after the hack time is missed is "we still closed earlier than the normal time". I absolutely will NEVER recommend this company because of what I was put through regardless of whatever gesture was made to "make it right". It's not worth the headache.
We couldn't give you all a 10 because we had to maneuver quite a bit to get the origination fee taken off- but other than that, we were very happy!
As we all know, the home purchase experience can be a very arduous, long, and trying experience. Angie and her team made this or my journey extremely rewarding and less traumatic.
Caleb, Denny and estephanie handled everything that came up. Very good. Very efficient.
The constant dragging out the request for additional information. Why not ask for everything in the beginning? The constant adding on charges for keeping the fix rate. Asking for information that you had, but now itas considered old so again I have to resend. I have been over charged and I donat like it.
I would highly recommend Veterans United to my friends and family.
The go between Ryan generated a horrible experience and does not follow up or do his due diligence with the process. He created more stress than needed and disrupted my vacation along with my managers vacations for no reason. If not for him I would've gave the experience overall a 9 or 10.
