The loan process was smooth. I was able to close in less than 30 days. My loan team was awesome. They were always on top of everything, which made the process fast and smooth. One little thing to be aware of if you're a veteran wanting to use the Oklahoma gold or dream Loan program, Veterans United does not work with that program. I could have saved $8,000 in my closing costs. I got the link to VU directly from the Oklahoma Housing and finance website. Veterans United no longer works with the Oklahoma dream or gold program. I gave my loan officer the phone number to call the ohfa director to inquire about the program because he thought it was an old program from 2023. I spoke with the ohfa director and she said the program was currently enforce for 2024. I'm not sure about the hang up, but it seemed like Vu did not want to work with any other programs that would create a second mortgage. Even though the dream program cancels the second mortgage after 9 years. This is something to be aware of if you're looking to save more money during these high interest rate times.

I cannot speak highly enough about my overall experience with Veterans United. From start to finish, every member of my team was quick and efficient in assisting me in this home buying process. I was on break at work during a night shift browsing homes on the Realtor app and clicked a checkbox for being a Veteran. I did not expect to receive a phone call within seconds from my Loan Officer, Tyson Brockmeier at 7:59pm EST. He quickly set me up with a VU account. Nicole Parungao, my Home Buying Concierge reached out and assisted me with a moving company, home security, and home insurance. Robbie Almogabar and Josie Wheeler went above and beyond to get me pictures and videos for the home I purchased due to my buying while out-of-state and made time for some family members to view the home. They are very knowledgeable and helped me negotiate the best deals for my home. Sarah Motley, Loan Coordinator kept the entire team informed of the loan process. Everyone was very responsive and helpful. Questions and concerns were always handled in a timely manner. Veterans United also has an app which makes completing documents, e-signing and reviewing extremely easy. This is the way home buying should be.
