Veterans united was recommended to me from a friend. We were sitting next to each other at work and I mentioned that I was looking to buy a house soon and wasn’t sure where to start. My coworker said he was currently in the process, and said it was all smooth and super easy going through VU.So I figured I’ll give it a shot. I filled out the application online. Got a phone call 10 minutes later. After that, the entire process was super smooth from start to finish lots of phone calls to answer any questions I had text emails, etc..Now that we have closed on our house, we can look back and say wow I’m glad I went through VU. The entire process was amazing and we were very appreciative of Kenzie and the other team members!
As I began my own buying journey and shopped around for rates, I quickly discovered that dealing with Veterans United was so much simpler and convenient than other potential veterans home loan lenders. I tried Navy Federal credit union and a couple others and quickly became very frustrated with them. However, with Veterans United, they made it very easy for me. It made it very easy to make a decision about which lender to use. The whole team was outstanding.Shane Ward constantly kept me informed about what was happening. Andrew Carter took me through the underwriting process and made it seamless. They both deserve special mention.The concierge, Nicki Blevins, was always available. Crystaline was absolutely amazing . The process was flawless . The only thing was with Catrina Heath. In short … she pulled a fire alarm for a fire that didn’t exist . Catrina , words carry a lot of weight during this time and my only advice to you is to check how you are communicating with your customers, and check in with your partners before sending out something that gravely impacts months of planning and hard deadlines . Lastly , an answer back is better than no answer at all , I know life is busy for us all but it is no excuse to leave myself and others on my side without a response for days . Respectfully , do better for the next people and good luck.

My loan officer, documents specialists and general team SERIOUSLY went to WORK for us, like very few civilian teams have!
My credit needed work so I was put on a plan which I thought was an immediate no as we'd attempted several times within the last 5 years to buy a home and we're always turned down even with a good paying job and over 640 credit score by traditional banks etc. It was honestly disheartening as well as demoralizing.
When I told my wife my plan back in May of this year to be in good standing and looking for a home by November I KNOW she was as skeptical as I secretly was due to all of the failed previous attempts.
Todd and the team SERIOUSLY allowed me to keep to my goal, my Wife's energy is COMPLETELY different now as we are in the process of moving into our new home!
This was the most pleasant process as it was so buttery smooth that at times I THOUGHT this was too good to be REAL, as cool little gifts came to the house we were renting along with weekly updates of the loan, title, etc process rolled along I thought for surely this is gonna be another build up to a no.
Around the time the title came back and the final appraisal was done and the loan moved closer into a CTC status (my team advised me that this means Clear To Close!) I started ACTUALLY getting excited that THIS might actually work this time!
