Overall, I had a great experience with my home loan team. They were responsive, professional, and helped guide me through the process smoothly. I always felt like they were available to answer questions and keep things moving forward.
The only issue I ran into was that it wasn’t clearly communicated until the day before closing that my significant other couldn’t be on the deed due to the loan requirements. That caused some last minute stress that could have been avoided with earlier with proper communication.
Aside from that, everything else was handled really well, and I appreciate the team’s support throughout the process.

For people with an hourly salary, VU needs to let them know of the 25 hour weekly hour minimum. Not knowing this nearly derailed our loan application as we had a closing date on the house I was selling and not getting this house would have left us scrambling for a place to stay. This information needs to be passed to the applicant at the start.

My loan officer, documents specialists and general team SERIOUSLY went to WORK for us, like very few civilian teams have!
My credit needed work so I was put on a plan which I thought was an immediate no as we'd attempted several times within the last 5 years to buy a home and we're always turned down even with a good paying job and over 640 credit score by traditional banks etc. It was honestly disheartening as well as demoralizing.
When I told my wife my plan back in May of this year to be in good standing and looking for a home by November I KNOW she was as skeptical as I secretly was due to all of the failed previous attempts.

Around the time the title came back and the final appraisal was done and the loan moved closer into a CTC status (my team advised me that this means Clear To Close!) I started ACTUALLY getting excited that THIS might actually work this time!

I’ve read some negative reviews about VU, but I can honestly say that I didn’t experience any negative issues with VU. We, meaning my Wife and I, were very responsive on getting requested documents back asap. We didn’t procrastinate on anything requested from us. Our team consisted of Hannah, Lupe, and Emily who were all available to take my calls and emails with questions I had. We closed in unbelievable 16 days.
Everyone will of course have different experiences to report, which is great, but this was my experience and it was nothing but wonderful for me with a minimal stress involved.
