I would advise that VU do some serious training when it comes to underwriting and communication between underwriters and loan originators. I had the worst experience dealing with my home loan and most of that falls squarely on the shoulders of your underwriters. The other disconnect is either a lack of communication with loan originator, or outright bad information coming from underwriters.
Sometimes wished e mails were answered in a timely manner. I sould send documents that were requested and would never receive feedback stating they were received, sometimes after e mailing a few times I would receive a response stating they were and some times they were not. sometimes my e mails for questions I had would go 3-5 days un answered or never answered at all.
All in all it was quick and smooth! We are pleased with everything! It would be nice to be informed a little better though! We felt that we were not in the loop for everything. It's nice to know what is going on.
It did not seem that VUHL was equipped to handle a loan for a multi-family home. I closed on a duplex 6 weeks behind schedule and missed out on collecting thousands of dollars of rent from the tenants inhabiting the building. The documentation required of me seemed as if it was never enough, few of which expired becuase of the delays. Even my initial locked in rate expired costing around $50 per month in interest savings.
