First of all, I am very thankful to have received the loan for my home. The difficulty by which I received the loan was something I would never want to experience again or have anyone else experience. In comparison to some of the other horror stories I have heard about mortgage companies, I guess Veterans United would fit right in there. We, me, my wife and my realtor, had to do quite a bit of work in order to get this loan at the rate promised. Nonchalant attitudes and people not seeming to realize that there was a family waiting to get into this home, plagued this whole process. We were misled a few times and I can't really say if it was due to lack of experience or just blatant deception. I must say I am glad this experience is over and would hope that more consideration would be given when the next family, veteran, or person applies for a loan. I have been told owning your own home is a part of the American Dream and I have put my life on the line several times just so I could be a part of that. Again thanks for your help, I am very thankful to be a homeowner.V/rTyrone BallardCPT(P), US Army
Don't wait until last minute to order appraisals on new construction. My appraisal was ordered about 2 weeks before closing and that caused us a lot of stress as everything was down to the wire.
