Response from Veterans United
Hi Richard,
I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you faced with our closing date crew. It sounds like there was a lot of unnecessary confusion, and that's not the experience we aim to provide. I'm glad you can look back on it with a sense of humor, but I understand how frustrating it must have been in the moment.
I’d like to learn more about what happened and see how we can improve our process. Could you please reach out to my team directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com? We're in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday, but feel free to contact us anytime.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re here to help and ensure a smoother process moving forward.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
My loan team was very responsive and assured us during the entire process from start to finish. I will definitely recommend them!
Honestly, everyone a VU was very nice, professional & courteous. It was difficult to deal with a "virtual bank". All the interactions were by phone or email. Although it was not that difficult to get all the necessary items to VU, they asked for a lot more than I could have ever imagined; they really dug deep into my credit history. I wished I would have shopped for a loan locally more aggressively. It was difficult to find a local bank to finance a 30 year mortgage because it was an investment property that I was NOT planning to live in. I thought because Veterans United was a "veterans authorized" lender that I may receive certain benefits that other banks would not offer but it turned out, there were no benefits for this veterans. Additionally, the seller had done an appraisal which was recommended by their family lawyer. VU refused to use that appraisal which had been done less than 60 days before. Instead, VU required another appraisal from a appraiser of their choosing and charged us at closing (almost $1200). I have purchased homes twice before and have never been charged as much in closing cost as I was this time (over $45,000). Attention Veterans, before using VU, shop around!
After years of thinking we would not be home owners anytime soon, our team simplified the process and provided the necessary support to make this dream reality!
We were pleasantly surprised by the continuous commitment through the entire process and each person involved was a blessing to have on our team.
Outstanding communication and service throughout the entire process. 10/10
No better organization that has gone above and beyond to care for and help VETERANS!!!
Veteran's United made things easy. They helped us make informed decisions and capitalize in ways that benefit us. Our team was very responsive and able to answer every question we had as first time homebuyers.
For a disabled veteran, first time home buyer, and buying the home out of state, I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for walking me thru the process, couldn't ha e done it without them.
Between all team members that I worked with were great and I would work with them again.
