It was an overall great experience with the exception of the confusion around the land we own. We have two separate lots for which one has a loan and the other is owned wholly by us. There was repeated confusion between the lots with the wrong lot being referenced for the loan. The confusion continued even after we provided documentation that firmly outlined the differences. Up until the very last day before we closed, our last set of documents that we had to e-sign still referenced the wrong lot number. I had to reject signing and wait for it to get corrected.
We were honest when reaching out to veterans united and gave them a short time line. They worked with us and made sure we were ready the entire time. They made sure to answer all questions and were always available.
As a first time home buyer, I went through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this process. Lance Hopper and his team went out of their way to make sure I knew what to expect through the process. I even had a family emergency during this process that put things on pause. The first thing that Lance said to me was take care of family and we'll still be here. Throughout this process, I did not just feel like another number with Veterans United. As a Marine, I have always had a mentality of "get things done"....but with Veterans United, they made sure I was prepared for the whole process.
Everyone there was very friendly and personable. Pleasure to work with.
