Chris did an outstanding job for us. We had some difficulties getting started with the refinancing process due to a "creative" existing second mortgage. However, Chris stuck with us and was able to get us refinanced. By combining our first and second mortgages and getting a much better rate our payments have been reduced by $800 a month. We will be grateful to Chris and Veterans United for the next 30 years.

I was happy to know that my rate went down the day of my closing.
In over a year since first contacting VU I had a few different people helping me. First was Max Caratura. He was amazing. A couple times I emailed a question on the weekend after 1am MO time and before I could finish checking my email I already had a response. Then it was Luke who, like Max was all over answering questions at lightning speed. Then I had Matt. I only had Matt for a short time but he seemed to lack the motivation Max and Luke had. If Matt's still there he needs to understand he can live and die by his email. The hoops needed to jump through to obtain a VA loan were no surprise to me even if they were annoying because I had used the VA to obtain a loan in 1986 but it WAS kinda annoying to be asked for multiple items already submitted by Krystal simply because she failed to look first to see if they'd already been submitted. Krystal was still very helpful when I needed her though.

The only issue that occurred during the entire process was underwriting's issues with my tax return transcript. My tax return had a correction because my accountant filed my ex-wife's taxes under my social and it created an issue with the return transcript. It took three tries for underwriting to get the correct transcript that would meet their requirements, even though they had all my w-2's and full returns for that year. Other than that the process went very very smothly. This is the second time I've used VU for a mortgage and will definitely recommend VU to my friends and will use it again myself if the need arises.
As a first time home buyer, I was clueless as to what to expect, what to pay attention to and what would be expected of me. Aaron Foster we above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout my process and provided assistance at times I felt overwhelmed.
