I recently had an experience with Veterans United that was far from satisfactory. My wife and I were scheduled to close on our home on July 17th, a date that was coordinated well in advance. However, the underwriting team failed to have the closing documents prepared in time. This resulted in a 48 hour delay and we did not receive any notice from the underwriting department until late Friday afternoon (1554 EST) on 14 July 2023, informing us that we would not be able to close on time with no guarantee as to when we could expect closure. On Monday, 17 July, a new time was coordinated for closure (19th at 10:00AM). However, when the 19th arrived, we had to undergo an additional delay of 1 hour, which was not only inconvenient but also completely avoidable. But the issues didn't stop there. The closing payoff amount was incorrect, leading to an overpayment on our existing credit accounts. Instead of rectifying the error, we were left with no choice but to pay the incorrect amount in order to close on the same day. This was not only financially burdensome but also added to the stress of the closing process.Throughout this ordeal, we received little to no communication from the underwriting team. Despite our attempts to reach out and resolve the issues, our concerns were met with silence. This lack of responsiveness was not only frustrating but also added to the uncertainty and stress of the situation. In the midst of this, our Loan Officer, Justin Darr, was a beacon of support. He went above and beyond to assist us, even reaching out over the weekend to provide reassurance and help. His dedication and commitment to his clients are commendable and greatly appreciated. However, the overall experience with Veterans United was disappointing. The lack of communication and attention to detail from the underwriting department during such a crucial process was unacceptable. We expected a higher level of service, especially considering the important role Veterans United plays in helping veterans and active service members secure homes. We hope that our experience serves as a learning opportunity for Veterans United. Improvements in communication and responsiveness are needed to ensure that future clients do not have to endure the stress and inconvenience we experienced. In conclusion, based on our experience, we cannot recommend Veterans United. The service we received was far from the standard we expected and has left us with a negative impression of the company.

Veterans United was the best choice for buying my home. The whole team was very helpful and always there to answer my questions. The process was seamless and stress-free. I would recommend VU to any veteran looking to buy a home. Thanks for everyone's hard work.

The whole team did a fantastic job. Even when we ran into issues with one house. They quickly got everything switched over to the new house I had to find.

If in the future I decide to buy an additional home, Veterans United will be one of the first lenders I call.

We have bought, constructed, and sold homes throughout our lives. The easiest and best experience of them all with the Veterans United Team!

My experience with Veterans United was absolutely easy for me I practically didn't have to do a thing!!

They made it so smooth for my father I couldn’t ask for a better team
