There were a few hiccups, with the amount that I put down for the earnest money, and having to finance my Homeowners Insurance, after I had paid it up for the year after closing. I was told by Craig that it was paid twice. And the last thing was that I found out that my loan was sold off right away to Plaza Mortgage Company and I am no longer going to be making my payments through this Veterans United App! I am sad about that! :(

I have experienced a lot of hard nocks in life during and after the service. It was those life lessons that hardened the metal and perfected its edge. There is still much more to learn and much more growing to do. I can honestly say I am finally living life and I actually feel totally happy for once in my life. Some of the greatest things I’ve done in life haven’t even come close except one (giving my life to Jesus Christ) and the second has to be buying a house. I have came so far from homelessness to finally owning my own home. There is no greater feeling in the world then to work very hard to achieve this feat in the place you dreamed of as a kid living at (the beach). I’ve never known what true friends were until I moved here (civilian side of course) . So many beautiful things have happened to me in past 3 years or so and my life has changed significantly! When you stop living for yourself and start living to serve others , you become so content with what you have in life . Anything an achievement like this one comes with, comes with non stop joy and everyday I come home (finally home Thank God!) it still doesn’t seem that real to me yet. Having this place has created a hunger and drive in me to keep pushing forward towards new goals and projects to improve the property and to make it my own. It feels so good to not have to worry about a landlord throwing you out or jacking up your rent to astronomical prices or only giving you 6 more months because they want to tear it down just to build a brand new one to charge more for rent ! I had tried several times in the past with y’all to get preapproved and a score requirement changed or I needed something else done but once I figured out how to fix my own credit y’all called me within a few months and this whole experience made up for the past . After moving down here I had most of benefits in 9 months after fighting the VA in Tennessee for 8 years I found out I had all the paperwork needed to be awarded and the Nashville TN regional office nor the Chattanooga TN clinic would do their jobs and refused to help me! But I never gave up on telling the truth no matter what awful things the VA did to me in Tennessee. No matter what life throws at us , we must endure it’s pain, push through its strife , forgive what has been done to us and stay in prayer as much as we can be! Because we cannot go through life alone and there is always someone watching our six. I am honored to be a part of less than 1 percent of our nations population and we are called Veterans! Psalms 91:14-16

The loan officer did not communicate as needed. I was never made aware of when we had a conditional approval, cleared to close, or a closing date and time was picked. I only knew how the loan was going by going to the website and seeing what was going on. The pending to do items (if any) were sent to my realtor so he can ask me for me. Which did not make sense to me. I never received a call from a processor, loan officer, closer etc. The loan process was smooth as I stayed on top of it by providing most (if not all items needed) at the very beginning. It is important to hear either from the loan officer or his team throughout the process. And not just rely on the realtor doing the communication with the borrower.
I am extremely happy I chose Veterans United and will recommend their services to anyone whom I know is trying to finance a home.

My only complaint was because Florida has so many different rules compared to other states there was some miscommunication. But we managed to get things taken care of.
