Buying a home can be overwhelming, but working with Veterans United turned what could’ve been a stressful process into something genuinely manageable—and even enjoyable. Our loan officer, Mason Maddox, was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to reach. He made sure we understood every step and always made time for our questions, no matter how small. Equally invaluable was Dena Singh, our loan coordinator, who truly went above and beyond. She had this amazing way of making everything feel less intimidating—guiding us through the paperwork, checking in often, and offering reassurance when we needed it most. Dena brought warmth and clarity during the moments we felt unsure, and we honestly couldn’t have done this without her. Robin, our homebuying concierge, was also a great resource—friendly, responsive, and ready with helpful tools along the way. With a team like this, we never felt alone in the process. Veterans United didn’t just help us get a loan—they helped us feel at home before we even moved in.
The underwriting process was frustrating. Specifically duplicated efforts to answer the same questions or provide documents they could have asked for initially. They appeared either new at the position or unprepared for what they needed. These delays ultimately resulted in us needing to move deadlines. It was also sometimes difficult for our realtor to in get in contact with VA United.

Repeating the same steps and providing duplicate documents—especially when you’re doing everything you can to stay on top of it—can make the whole thing feel disorganized and overwhelming. You deserved a smoother experience, and I’m sorry we didn’t deliver on that.
It’s also concerning to hear that your realtor had trouble getting in touch with us. That kind of delay can really throw off communication when timing matters most, and we know how important it is to keep all parties in the loop.

Jake Hanson and Brooke Doolittle were absolutely amazing. On top of everything, I was informed right away about any changes, new docs, everything. This is our 1st house, too, so it was definitely an amazing experience.

I want to thank Brenda Kelly for the help she gave us. She was so responsive to all the questions I asked, and in many cases proactive in letting us know what was coming next. She was friendly and fast and took great care of us. Thank you so much Brenda! I also thought the portal was great. It was easy to upload documentation and let us know what we needed to do.
Between Brett and Shan the mortgage process was pretty much seamless. I've bought 6 homes over the years and this was the easiest mortgage process I've ever had.....
Pretty easy as far as home buying process can be compared to what I’ve heard from other lenders and other people thankful and grateful that it was done and easy
Communication was superb. If I got my paperwork submitted within 24 hours it was processed within 24 hours. If I had a question my phone call or email was returned on the same business day. I was not pushed to use VU's services if I found something else I preferred. Upon closing we received a care package from the team with personalized gifts that were very thoughtful with my children in mind.
The overall all experience was smooth. Jared Anderson, was such a huge help. He definitely made the loan process seamless and kept us in the loop with all updates. He did not hesitate to step in and help us out when needed.Abby was so pleasant to speak with. She went above and beyond for my family! She even threw in some items for my daughter in our gift basket. Abby is truly a blessing to Veterans United. Please keep her there and PROMOTE ABOVE PEERS!!
