I have read many comparisons of Veterans United with other VA loan servicers and have wondered the end result if we were to use them. However, we chose to try applying with the competition and we were disappointed with tries that we had in applying for a VA loan.
This finally opened the opportunity to finally give Veterans United the benefit of the doubt and see what they could offer.
For buyers with credit challenges, Veterans United need to become the number one option for applying for a VA loan.

Had an awesome experience! My assigned team (yes, several people available to me through text, email, and voice) made the process really easy and stress-free. I would have purchased a home a long time ago if I had known loan application and home-buying was this easy. When looking to buy again I will definitely use their company again, and I will also refer them to those that need it!
I recommend looking at your options with other local banks/credit unions before settling with Veterans United (VU). We missed our first closing (several day delay) and almost our second closing date due to a lack of attention-to-detail by someone at VU. It seems they relied on their system to communicate and didn't follow-up; I had to push for direct person-to-person communication for them to figure out the problem. We ultimately went with VU because they were a mortgage company and they donate to the local community. If you don't see this benefit with VU, I suggest shopping local banks/credit unions. VU does send a cute housewarming gift after closing as a thanks for your business...I'd prefer better service.

I'd 100% recommend veterans United for all of their VA loan home buying needs. They made it their goal to make it the least painful and least stressful process it could be from start to finish and would have late work with them again.
